Duas Portas  is the result of a very special restoration of an old portuense house connecting past and present and offering a minimalistic space filled with design pieces and an overall great taste. This boutique hotel is placed in front of the tranquil Douro River and 15 minutes by foot from the city centre.

With wide-open views to the ribeira, rooms are very spacious, quiet and cozy. The neutral tones and the light coming from the large windows are a signature sign of the hotel. The bathroom is covered in two-tone tiles, and features a walk-in shower. Rooms also include king-size beds and all sorts of amenities.
Every corner of the hotel reflects the exquisite design taste of the owners. There are a couple of lounge areas where you could spend some time going through the latest numbers of Portugal’s Vogue or a curated collection of Alvar Aalto’s best works. A coffee machine is also available for every client to enjoy a quick espresso before the mandatory sightseeing. Bikes are offered under their iconic staircase too.
From the exterior, the former house is painted a clean white and little decorated. From time to time, it’s likely to spot a tram going towards the streets of the city centre. The property also counts with an interior ‘patio’ with a small garden on top and some chill-out areas to read and chat. Breakfast is also served there, if requested.
