Munthe S/S 2023 Copenhaguen Fashion Week

Munthe Physical Show at CPHFW

Copenhagen Fashion Week proved once again why it is one of the most important events of the year in the industry. Always looking for new and fresher ideas, working towards a more sustainable approach, CPHFW is doing better than ever. This season, it’s been a real pleasure to witness a huge step forward to a clear diversity and equity on the runway, and we cannot help but celebrate.

Summer in Copenhagen is already a boost of positive energy but fashion week’s atmosphere is something else. The creative side of the week can be overwhelming, given the amount of shows, presentations and events of other nature taking place in just a few days. Here are some of our favorites from this season.

The Garment was an impeccable start to the week: exquisite styling, a timeless palette, beautiful proposals and a perfect mixture between tomboy-ish designs and extremely femenine pieces. All in all, a very strong offering given the short run of the brand – officially launched last summer. The Garment is slowly building a perfectly curated universe of aesthetic which solidifies the brand’s essence

Soulland presentation

Rabens Saloner welcomed their guests to a little summer escape in the outskirts of Copenhagen. Pink umbrellas and mirrored seats made a parking lot look cheerful and vibrant somehow. The collection followed was a literal summer breeze, with relaxing silhouettes, new statement pieces and a bold music choice. The show felt empowering and strongly diverse in size and age. Our highlight – the stunning color palette based on the paintings of Lev Keshin and their signature tie-dye all over.

Latimmier repurposed traditional masculinity with a dose of punk energy, fun styles and a bold attitude. The show was held inside of an old gym with guests seated in front of a bunch of body-lifters. Deconstructed suits and androgynous styles set the tone of a very refreshing presentation.

Skall Studio was a true delight to the eye and probably our favorite show of the season. The Botanical Garden was the perfect venue for a show that celebrated the roots of the brand and its Indian influences. The muted tones of the palette with a vast majority of whites and beiges contrasted with the green surroundings perfectly. It was a sunny morning and The Beatles were also playing. It was beautiful to see the attention to detail in the textures and flowy silhouettes.

Backstage photograhy of Soulland models before the show

Soulland was a crowded celebration in the middle of a public square. The brand presented a very extensive collection with touches of silver, extravagant bags and a diverse cast of models. Everyone had a clear representation and it was very much celebrated.

Hope took us to a photography studio with an actual photoshoot set-up. The Swedish brand enhanced their aim to create differently. They always work on the concepts of masculinity and femininity, and how they’re intertwined. The collection presented more utility pieces with cargo as one of the big comebacks of the season, oversized blazers and a muted color palette.

Baum und Pferdgarten felt like a concert, with a street full of expectant guests and (too) many phones in the air. Bold colors, disco inspired pieces, crop tops and a joyous energy all around were the perfect summary of one of the most anticipated shows every season.

Munthe wanted to give a clear message to their audience: they’re working to be a real sustainable brand. The venue – the infinity shaped Sydhavn Recycling Center. The collection – a bright proposal inspired by Malevich’s heritage and some brilliant styling choices.
