Rabens Saloner Physical Show at CPHFW
Blass editors @noeliablass & @penelopeblas flew to the ever exciting Copenhagen to experience the shows, backstage, showroom visits and to meet incredibly talented people too. All in all, it’s been a beautiful, hectic week filled with no-time-to-eat schedules and a priceless dose of creativity.
Copenhagen Fashion Week was returning this time with a bit of hope for normality. The leading Nordic fashion week announced that 25 physical activations and 13 digital presentations were taking place from 10th-13th August. Blass has covered some dazzling shows these days, and the most on-point street style in the world.
Every brand in CPHFW works exquisitely to create unique shows that portray the sustainable philosophy and creative universe of the firm. Creative directors put a lot of effort to find the perfect balance between locations, music and collections in a way that really resonates with the brand and its audience.

The Garment presentation

Sadly, we can’t fit every brand in this article but here are some of the most inspiring presentations we were lucky to attend those days.
Starting off with a personal favourite of ours, the ethereal Rabens Saloner. It was the very first physical show for Birgitte Rabens’s empire and it didn’t disappoint: loose silhouettes, warm tones, tie-dye dresses and some more edgy metallic sets.
The presentation captured the last rays of sun under a city bridge and offered all the attendants wine and impeccable music. The bold and warm makeup choices really enhanced the beauty of the looks on the silver catwalk.

The Garment was created last year by renowned influencer Sophia Roe and designer Charlotte Eskildsen. The Garment creates sustainable long-lasting pieces with a masculine and feminine dualism.
Their presentation was definitely one of the most anticipated ones during fashion week, with a long queue of attendants outside the space that hosted the show.
The venue was filled with flowers, subtle lighting and still models, and a tasteful film – directed by Roe herself – was playing on one of the walls.

Brogger chose a concrete roof to display a show full of colour: from purple to yellow and turquoise blue. The whole show was a breath of fresh air and a well understood femininity.
Fluid silhouettes, vaporous fabrics, great colour mixes and many statement looks for the next summer season. Brogger honoured the 70s and elevated the spirit of that decade in all of their new designs.
Helmstedt was almost a spiritual experience. We were headed to a sandy location in the outskirts of the city.

Then, Emily Helmstedt read a poem that set the mood for the rest of the show. The presentation was a true ode to the sea and the nature of Scandinavia.
The models walked in circles carrying papier-maché fishes on their shoulders and portrayed a childlike look. The designer’s sensibility was very present in the imaginary world she managed to create for a few minutes.
Everything that Designers Remix does looks and feels appealing and fresh, and we can assure that was what the attendants were thinking while seated on the bleachers from the basketball court where the show was taking place. The collection celebrated a sporty approach to next Spring and a 90s revival.
